Read it guys it might happen and if it does let me know if you are willing to participate. I know killjoy, joyrider, and few members would definately be down, but we will need at least 6 players (5 and one referee).

I know there isn't many active clans our there for zps right now, but anyone willing to get their old clan members to come back for a big clan competition?

I've been always itching for a big event like this, but it seems zps hasn't had one for a long time. Just got back from talking to a friend who is participating in a big one with the new Natural Selection 2 game, so I had to ask here.

Many ways a well done competition can run is through couple of plugins and lots of clans or groups who are willing to participate.

*Edit (After talking to couple members from different clans who seems interested, I've decided to rewrite this so it's easier to understand and more organized/detailed).

Thins we need:
1) Rules (will discuss this soon)
2) Crucial Plugins: ability to choose teams whenever they want (human, zombie, spec), mic voice channels or other ways to communicate on mic with team only, and maybe anything else you guys can think of.

4) Prize (perhaps not money due to the many issues we can run into, but simply the honor of being the clan that beat the others xD) These events are supposed to be just for fun anyways to meet people, like a competitive pick up game of basketball.

Gamplay (how the games would run so it's competitive, fair, and fun):
I will use biotec as an example since this i how we did it with ZBA (zombie bite action) since I learned a thing or two from it. We chose biotec instead of a zpa map, since these maps are something that we know pretty well and has more team work implemented in it. I know this might sound like it wont be fair, but please keep reading I believe there is a way.

Player count: 5 vs 5 or was it 6 vs 6? xP
1) Using a plugin, one clan will join survivors. The other clan will have one person join zombie and others will wait in spectate. Also two referees (one from each clan) will join spectate to prevent ghosting (spectators telling where opponents are, but to be honest it's hard to prevent this effectively anyways due to steam chat or cellphones xP so we really just have to play with people we can trust, or simply just play nevertheless). Both referees will also time when the round starts. We can have one referee instead of both clans can trust him/her.
2) There will be one whitey UNTIL the human team gets the second objective (basement). After humans get the basement objective, one more zombie can join. We tried adding a zombie after keys, but it made it real hard for us to finish the map. (things like these I can test with my own clan or other clans to choose when to add zombies to make it more fair and fun). Also to prevent the others from going spectate all the time, we allowed others to switch (so if one zombie died, a different zombie can join as long as that zombie sat out so we still had a total of 2 zombies.) Whitey has to stay though so you will have to choose your best zombie player to be whitey for the whole round.
3) After the control room, two more zombies stepps in.
4) After lab, everyone stepped in.
5) When the humans all die out or wins, the two or one referree will stop their timers and will compare timers to see if it is accurate.

*FOR HUMANS when they die, they went spectator. However if I can get the team chooser plugin to work, we can make it so humans respawn after certain objectives (will require lots of testing and practice before I can confirm this).

I will also recommend having the event 4 weeks after we confirm a set of clans to participate, so there is a time period when clans can practice. We can also set a day for two clans to compete and the next for two other clans to compete, and then let teh winning teams continue while the losing teams are opted out (until the next tournament where they can get the rematch going on).

Preferably for this event to run well, we will need at least 4 clans that has 8-10 members that can commit to the event.

Rules:
-No Ghosting (spectators communicating with players).
-No Hacks (duh)
-No Hostility (don't end up being too competitive and fight with players making accusations and so on. This event is meant for meeting others and having a friendly competition, not the fight of their lives.)
-No consistent accusations (just say it once if someone is breaking the rules, the referees will take care of it from there).
-No whining or complaining (This will kill the mood)
-Doing the objectives (if a clan was to camp or hide on these objective maps, there will be no point to the event.)
-Preferably have older or at least mature players that will not cause trouble.
-Must have a few players that can lead and knows the map really well.
-Following the gameplay rules (like joining the game when they are supposed to and not having more zombies join too early and so on)
-Listen to the referee just incase you forget the gameplay rules.
-Must have reviewed the event details before playing. (to avoid issues during the event as much as possible).
-Must have the agreed amount of participants on the set date. As long as there are at least 5 players on each side, it will be ok in my opinion to allow some people to miss out due to emergencies and so on.
-Those who do not follow the rules will be slayed or banned from the event. Before these action are made, we will give them one warning for each type of rule breaking. The event will still be moving on (even with one less player) and the other team does not have to lose a player due to the griefing being slayed or even banned (so it can become 6 vs 5 if so). If the greifer's clan decideds to leave after then the leaving clan will lose. God forbid anything like this does not happen since it will really ruin the mood and fun.

So far there are these clans I know of:
EZF (us), LoS, S1gaming, ZBA, DiG, WestCoast, CvG, ConjointGaming, RAWCG or S.T.A.R.S., and couple other clans outside North America.
I know many of these are inactive now since they either moved to other games and such, but I'm sure they are still around. It all depends if any of them is interested.

I asked S1 recently, but right now not enough feedback. But I really enjoyed playing with them since they are real dam good xP http://squareonegaming.com/index.php?topic=755.0 *edit i talked to more members of s1 so if i can organize and test the event so it runs well i think they would be willing to try the event.

Also for more participants, we can also invite any group to play (anyone with a group that is willing to participate with a tag can play despite them having a server or not). If this event goes viral in zps then it can be done.

Like the event with ZBA, it is always best to try this out with a group before setting an official date with everyone. Once our server is up, I will try running simulations of the event if our members are willing to test it out until it runs fair and fun.



Anyways just a dream really, wonder if anyone will reply xP. Watcha think? I know an event like this will not only make the zps community grow, but will also make the community stronger by meeting other clan members and so on.
